General FAQs

Who put this site together? This site was founded by drummer Tom Salmon and bassist Scott Sorenson. Tom and Scott played together for 12 years in various bands throughout the 80's and 90's. Why is the site called RhythmRock.com? In or around 1988, bass player Scott and drummer Tom wrote a bass/drums only song called Rhythm Rock (click to listen). The name RhythmRock came from the term "rhythm section" which refers to the low-end/rhythm section of a band (often bass guitar and drums). What is the purpose of this Web site? We put this site together as a way for former and current band members, fans, and friends to share photos, audio, and video with each other. Anyone interested can register and contribute their old photos (scanned as jpg files), mp3 files (converted from old casette tapes, etc.), and video files (.mp4, .mpg, .avi, .wmv, or .mov) digitized from old video tapes. How can I share my stuff? You will need to register with us in order to upload your stuff. Can I put my other band stuff out here that I was in outside of the band(s) I was in with Tom and/or Scott? We wish we could, but each of us has our own "rock & roll tree", and the site would quickly mushroom into something beyond what our disk space allows. Sorry, but please keep your uploads related to the bands listed. Why do I have to register? Registration is required ONLY as a security measure. If registration wasn't required, anyone on the internet could upload stuff and that's both a security problem and would allow irrelevent content to be uploaded. How long does it take to get my account information? We'll email you once your account has been approved, usually within 24 hours. Will you spam me? Come on, this is Tom and Scott (what are we going to spam you with?).
